MICK KARN has passed away



El 4 de Enero de 2011 sera un dia triste para la musica. Mick Karn, el  bajista del legendario grupo JAPAN  ha fallecido.

Mick murio a causa del terrible cancer que padecia en su casa de Chesea rodeado de su familia(tenia esposa y un hijo) e amigos. Mick tenia 52 años

Su carrera musical comenzo a principios de los años 70 en inglaterra en a mitica banda JAPAN junto a David Sylvian y Richard Bavieri entre otros. Su estilo estaba  influenciado principalmente por el Punk,Glam y especial por TecknoPop y el New Wave caracteristico de la epoca. Pero pronto el estilo unico y atipico de Mick,doto a Japan de un sonido unico y propio incluso el propio Peter Townshed le califico como el mejor bajista de Inglaterra.

Tras la separacion de JAPAN, Mick Karn formo junto a Peter Murphy  parte de Cali´s Car. Por no hablar de las colaboraciones  con artistas de la talla de Bryan May,Phil Collins , Gary Numan,Ryuichi Sakamoto y en especial la de nuestro querido SUGIZO.

Mick Karn siempre sera recordado por su elegente y  excepcional forma de tocar el bajo.

Por ultimo, mis mas sentido pensame para la familia, amigos y a os fans. Y un gran abrazo para sugizo que sentia adoracion por su amigo Mick Karn.

On 4 Januray,2011 was a sad day for music. Mick Karn,the bassist of legendary band JAPAN has passed away.

Mick died due to his cancer at his home surrounded by his family Chesea (had a wife and child) and friends. Mick had 52 years

His musical career began in the early 70's in England in a mythical band JAPAN with David Sylvian  and Richard Bavieri among others. His style was influenced mainly by the Punk, Glam and special TecknoPop and New Wave . But soon the atypical and unique style of Mick, gave o Japan a unique sound and one's own Peter Townshend even qualify him as the best bass player in England.


After separation from JAPAN, Mick Karn with Peter Murphy formed part of Cali's Car, not to mention collaborations with artists like Bryan May, Phil Collins, Gary Numan, Ryuichi Sakamoto and especially of our beloved SUGIZO.

Mick Karn will always be remembered for his excepiconal and stylish way of playing the bass.

Finally, my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and you fans. And a big hug for SUGIZO who felt worship by his friend Mick Karn.
